i didnt quite make it through yesterday's to-do list. i knew it was a bit ambitious, but i wanted to give it a shot anyway.
i woke up at 6:30am today. quite the ungodly hour if you ask me. magoo seems to need my attention earlier and earlier each morning, and for longer periods of time each day. in fact, earlier she sat in the doorway watching me wash dishes and then mop. either i am the most interesting person ever, or she is deathly bored.
since i was up so early i was able to scrub down the entire outside of the refridgerator, shower, and do some emailing before it even hit 9am. yay me.
around 9:30am i hit the pavement to find some jp yard sales and get me some funiture. as of this moment, ive got an old-fashioned-looking kitchen clock, an ottoman (small orange fella) and a nice hall table. i did see some other things i liked but im on a budget and not wanting to spend too much per object. plus, its really the "big stuff" that i need... desks and sofas.
as ive been cleaning the kitchen ive come across an horrifying discovery. we have a serious moth infestation. ive thrown out some of the food in the pantry but ultimately have closed the pantry door to wait for backup troops to arrive tomorrow. we'll need to pull everything out, wash down the walls and shelving, plus put some kind of anti-moth thingymajig in there. my hope is that this infestation hasnt and doesnt spread.
the cleaning is going rather well. the kitchen is essentially done, bar the moth situation. there still remain some dishes to be washed and two sets of cupboards to be washed out and then filled before i can call the job complete. but its shaping up. i hope to tackle the entry, the living room and then the hallway - in that order - by the end of next week.
meanwhile my roommate is moving back home to MN. boo. we barely got a chance to do cool roommate bonding stuff. its a sad affair, but im really hoping she gets to do something fantastic and interesting that she really loves. that would be worth the move. if not, she'll just have to come back here ;)
my next adventure is to shower, again, and then head to the co-op to pick up some new flour and some chocolate chips for cookie dough. yeah, im not even going to pretend i intend to make cookies with it.
